This article shows how to install, configure, and launch GhostPractice.
Prerequisites
GhostPractice versions are in folders containing the client and server installs
To install the client version on a workstation:
- Browse to the client folder in the required version.
In the Application subfolder, double-click Setup.exe to start installation
If this is a first-time installation, the setup will check which of the prerequisites still need to be loaded and will try to install them from the application folder.
Installation
- Launch the installer by double-clicking on the Setup.exe, which will launch the GhostPractice setup wizard.
- You will see a "Welcome to GhostPractice" screen, click Next, and the standard GhostPractice ULA will display
- Once read, click the 'I Accept' line and select Next.
- The application will then want to install to the default C:\Program Files (x86)\Korbicom\GhostPractice\ directory.
- Select Next.
- On the Ready to Install screen, click Install.
- GhostPractice will install or update all the prerequisites applications which are:
- Crystal Runtime components 32-bit
- Crystal Runtime components 64-bit
- .Net Framework 4.6
- Virtual Studio Tools for Office Runtime
- Accept all default options when prompted
- Click Finish once installation is complete
| If the prerequisites were not found on the workstation and the install files were not found in the ‘Application’ directory, the install will fail. |

Launching GhostPractice
Once the installation is done select ‘Launch GhostPractice’
You will be prompted to enter the SQL instance name and Database name
These settings can be found on the install documentation or from any machine already set up. from the User interface under the ‘Tools’ Menu ‘Edit Server’ option.
User accounts and Licensing
- User accounts should have been added by the GhostPractice system administrator from the User Interface.
- New users should also be activated by the GhostPractice Support Center to have full functionality. Please email support-gp-sa@dyedurham.com for user activations and or billing.
