This article explores the Payments module within Bookkeeper in GhostPractice.
When you open the Payments module, a list of all outstanding requisitions is displayed.

You can select one or more requisitions to process as payments. If the payment is by cheque, a cheque is printed, the accounting entries are posted, and the account is updated. (If payment is by EFT, no cheque is printed.)
Payments Tab
To open the Payments module, click the Payments button on the navigation bar. Details of outstanding requisitions are displayed under the following headings on the Payments tab:
Requisition Tab
When you click the New Requisition button on the Payments toolbar, the Requisitions tab is displayed with the following fields:
1. Payment to Client
To make a payment to a client:
- Click the Payments button on the navigation bar to open the Payments module.
- Select the requisition you want to process from the list displayed on the Payments tab.
- Click the Process Payment button on the module toolbar. The Account, Requisition, and Payment details are displayed.
- If you have selected payment by cheque, the Payee field will automatically display the name of the person or firm to be paid, as per the account number.
- The default cheque number will be displayed (the number following the last cheque number processed). You can change this number, if necessary, by clicking the Reset button and entering another number.
- Click the Print Cheque button on the module toolbar

2. Create New Payment Requisition
To create a new payment requisition:
- Click the Payments button on the navigation bar. The Payments module opens.
- Click New Requisition on the toolbar.
- On the Requisitions tab, enter the required information.
- Click the Save button on the toolbar.
- The new requisition will be displayed in the list on the Payments tab.

3. Decline Payment Requisition
To disallow a payment and to remove the requisition from the list of Payment Requisition:
- Click the Payments button on the navigation bar. The Payments module opens.
- Select the Requisition you want to disallow from the list displayed.
- Click the Delete button on the module toolbar

- You will be prompted to confirm the deletion: click Yes to continue or No to abort the task.
- If you click Yes, you will be prompted to provide a reason for the deletion.
- Enter the reason and click OK. The updated Requisition list is immediately displayed.
